In a broiler breeder operation, weight management and body condition is crucial for optimal egg laying production. The house feedlines deliver feed in both directions from the center of the house pulling through a feed auger system. Feed delivery issues can occur from multiple equipment failure points causing feed distribution to only happen on one side of a house.
Our Precision Poultry system indicated abnormal bird behaviors at a feedline within 20 minutes of the typical feed delivery time and sent an alert to the grower. The grower was then able to inspect the indicated line and discovered a broken shear pin to repair, ensuring usability for the next feeding period. In traditional poultry farm management, growers are not able to physically observe every line for every feeding period and feed delivery issues could go undiscovered for days.
